Spirits Place

Searching For Volunteers To Clean 1 Day A Week!

WE ARE SEEKING HELP IN A WIDE VARIETY OF TASKS NEEDED TO HELP CONTINUE THE DAILY FUNCTIONING AT THE SANCTUARY. WE ARE ALWAYS WORKING ON CAGES AND ROOMS AS WE WORK THROUGH A BEAUTIFUL NEW RENOVATION. WE ARE SO PLEASED WITH THE ARTWORK THAT IS BEING PAINTED ON THE WALLS BY THE NOKOMIS HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.

We have a pottery shop right here in the front of the building. We make and sell pottery to support and fund the shelter. We are in need of an ambassador to give tours and staff the store front. We need a responsible, reliable, and respectful person who is able to represent the shelter and who we are as well as who the cats are.

  • We also need someone who can perform tasks to maintain the cleanliness and functions of daily life.

    • This includes cleaning floors, cages, rooms.

    • We also need people who can change litter boxes, wash dishes, and vacuum.

    • We need someone who can organize and prepare items for carts and bins.

    • We are seeking someone who can change and fill all food and water bowls in the building.

  • Spirits Place runs solely based on donations and fundraising. We need a responsible and creative person who could be in charge of fundraising and the events associated with generating consistent income for the shelter to pay to spay and neuter community and shelter cats. We also need to fund surgeries to save lives of cats, and the medicines and check ups included with medical care.

  • We are always increasing our local awareness as well as our online presence. We’re seeking a responsible and knowledgeable person to be in charge of our social media and online marketing.

A little about us and who we are:

  • Spirits Place is a not for profit 501c3 cat sanctuary. Spirits Place engages grassroots compassion, education and creativity to elevate animal welfare and quality of life in our community by promoting and assisting in the spaying/neutering, medical care and compassionate management of stray, abandoned, feral and community cats.

  • We assist under-served families with spay/neuter, veterinary care, humane education and resources to help them retain their pets: provide shelter and temporary foster care as needed: find loving homes for adoptable animals in our care: and provide longer-term space for animals that may not be ready for adoption and find themselves homeless for a variety of reasons.

  • Our philosophy is that while not everyone can find a home, everyone can have a life.
